Flee

Posted by Anthony St. Clair on oneword January 31, 2006 07:46 PM"Flee, oh for god’s sake flee!" she shouted, the milk everywhere, dripping down the tablecloth. The children bolted; the flies screamed; the dog shouted, and the cat cried. When everyone was gone, only the sound of scampering feet – and buzzing wings – fading, … Read more

Hail

Posted by Anthony St. Clair on oneword January 30, 2006 06:01 AMThe hail came down pebbles and marbles. He opened the curtains and marveled at the way it bounced off the car roofs and asphalt. She’d seen eyes like that once before, down some late-night dream that had left her so hot she couldn’t even remember what she had been blushing about. … Read more

Know II

Posted by Anthony St. Clair on oneword January 25, 2006 06:03 AMThere was so much to learn, so much to try to know, and no way at all ever to take it all in. She sat down, shaking her head and dropped the book. Too much world, too much thought, too much imagination – she … Read more
