Link: Getting Finances Done. (K@ & Logan, this one’s especially for you!)

Found this the other day via Lifehacker, and have already been finding it crazy useful. Check out the following two posts in particular for getting your current financial life in order, as well as for a little short-term emergency planning:

  1. Wow, that’s a nice site. A lot of what he mentions, K@ and I are already doing, but simple things like setting a budget for food (quite possibly our biggest expense, if you count alcohol) is something we’ve neglected. Thanks for the link!

  2. You’re welcome. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while. For over a year I’ve been tracking – literally – every penny I spend, but I’ve been wanting to get some more categories and trends and what-not around that.
If I were to change one thing on the advice for, say, the budgeting, it’d be to draw up a usable budget sheet – but spend the first month or two or three tracking what you actually spend, and then adjust your numbers from there. That way you are working from reality, not just from what you think or want your budget to be.
