Retirement and college planning overview

Trying to wrap your head around all those numbers 3-letter financial acronyms? IRA, 529, UTMA — ugh. Getting Finances Done has a plain-language breakdown of what each is, and which you do, and do not, want to pursue. There’s something to learn here for everyone; I feel pretty good about my grasp of IRAs and 401k, but the info on college investing — using an ESA, or Education Savings Account, instead of a 529 — was new to me:
