Frederic's Lost Arm - special birthday beer from 16 Tons, Oakshire Brewing and J-Tea

On Thursday April 28, 12-10 p.m., Eugene’s own 16 Tons Bottle Shop celebrates its 1st birthday! I’m amazed at the big presence this small operation has created in just one year, and stoked to help them celebrate.

From their start in 2010, over the last year 16 Tons has gone from being a bottle shop to much more. They host amazing events, exposing customers to unique ciders, beers, wines and sakes. A rotating selection of 18 draft craft beers now augments their vast bottle selection of 300+ craft beers and 250+ bottled wines, sake, ciders and more. For draft beer or cider to go, you can purchase a mason jar or growler there, or bring your own.

I’m stoked to see 16 Tons grow and get more established in the Eugene community. Head down anytime between 12 and 10 today, give the folks a shout-out, and sample some of their amazing bevvies. (I plan to swing by this afternoon and relieve them of a growler of their just-tapped anniversary beer…)

And help them tap their special-release 1st-anniversary beer

16 Tons also recently collaborated with Oakshire Brewing and J-Tea for a special-release, drink-up-while-you-can first-anniversary beer, Frederic’s Lost Arm.

Frederic’s Lost Arm is a Belgian-style Farmhouse Saison brewed with copious amounts of Iron Goddess Four Seasons Oolong Tea from J-Tea. Josh from J-Tea also chronicled the brew day, held at Oakshire. You can see photos from the brew day at the Oakshire photo journal.

They’ll be tapping the keg first thing today, ask for it when you go in.

Cheers and beers today, April 28
