Week-long celebration of Craft Beer comes to Corvallis Sept. 12-18
Corvallis’ Craft Beer scene continues to blossom beginning Monday, September 12, 2011. That’s the day the inaugural Corvallis Beer Week kicks off to promote the education and celebration of craft beer and microbrew throughout the beautiful city of Corvallis, Oregon.
The idea for Corvallis Beer Week is the brainchild of Co-Founder Drew Salmi, Beer Curator at soon-to-open Les Caves Bier & Kitchen at 310 SW Third St. in downtown Corvallis. He saw other communities throughout Oregon—such as Portland, Eugene and Medford—rally behind the idea of a week-long celebration of the craft beer industry. After bringing in Chris Althouse, Co-Founder of Oakshire Brewing and Manager at Block 15, and Nathan Langner, Instructor & Faculty Member at Oregon State University, the Corvallis Beer Week team was complete and the planning stages began.
Local and Oregon Breweries Ready to Pour
Local breweries, pubs, restaurants and even a ciderhouse were quick to jump on board with the concept and include Block 15, Flat Tail Brewing, Oregon Trail Brewery, Ninkasi Brewing, Oakshire Brewing, 2 Towns Ciderhouse, Corvallis Brewing Supply, Bombs Away Cafe, Terminus, OSU’s Fermentation Science Dept., Murphy’s Restaurant & Lounge, Downtown American Dream & Crowbar, Cloud 9, Brew Station, Suds & Suds, Corvallis Sports Park, Septembeerfest, and Le Patissier French Bakery.
