On a Kyoto train with my son

The Martini of Destiny, by Anthony St. ClairAnd we’re back! After last week’s giveawaywinner announcements and special features, it’s time for our second E-book Giveaway for The Martini of Destiny.

Have you traveled? Travel has been a huge influence on my life, and I’ve taken every opportunity I can to see other places and encounters folks from other cultures. And even at home, plugging away at my wee stories, I can feel the influence of every person I’ve met, every place I’ve seen, on every word that I write. Travel is part of my DNA, part of my soul. I can’t imagine my life without travel. I can’t imagine being who I am without the experiences I’ve had in other parts of the world. And I can’t imagine not continuing to travel to the places I want to see.

Do you want to travel? Where have you gone? Where do you want to go?

  1. To date, my favourite travel spot is Darjeeling, India. There’s just something about seeing the sun reflect off the snow-capped Himalayas while sipping hot chai on a misty morn ;). I got to ring in 2013 in Kaoshung, Taiwan and the hopping place on New Year’s eve was McDonald. I kid you not! One of these days I would like to visit the Tuscan countryside, ideally on a scooter and gorge myself on pasta and wine; set foot in the Shaolin monastery, take a peek at the terracotta warriors, cruise the Nile in Egypt, the list goes on and on.

  2. Hmmmm….Barcelona, wandering lost in the city streets with Choya. Driving through a small river accidentally in Costa Rica with Sam. Alone on a train in Austria watching the sun break over the Alps…

  3. Every trip with Okito holds so many adventures and stories. Italy always floats to the top for favorite Mediterranean spots, but then there’s always Croatia, Barcelona. I could ramble on about Asia for a long time. Travel is indeed so fantastic!!!!

  4. Wow. Thank you for these awesome stories.

@Vidya – Darjeeling sounds amazing. That’s a part of India I haven’t gotten to yet, though I’m right there with you on how amazing it is to see the Himalayas on a bright morning.

@TheBon – Helsinki is in my list, along with Stockholm. Definitely two cities I’d love to get to know.

@Taylor – What is it about sunrise over the mountains that captivates us so? Driving to Bozeman earlier in May, I got to watch the sun rise over the Cascades, and could hardly take my eyes away.

@Sheri – Loved hearing about your Croatia trip. Makes me want to go there!
