During the 30 days of November 2011, I’m writing short stories about travel. Think of them as day trips that’ll fit in your backpack. Set in the same travel fantasy/urban fantasy world as my forthcoming novel, these stories will bring you adventurous, enticing and sometimes even funny travel tales.

I’m writing this travel story collection as part of the write-a-novel-in-a-month NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. Held every November, NaNoWriMo challenges writers around the world to write a 50,000-word novel during the month of November (or 1,667 words per day). After successfully completing NaNoWriMo in 2001, 2005 and 2008, this year will be my fourth time taking on the challenge. And I’m going to win.
